"White Seal" Diving Club at the White Sea
In the evening of March 9, despite blizzard, a group of friendly divers from St. Petersburg - The White Seal Diving Club, led by their leader Dmitry Lozhkin - arrived at the Arctic Circle, bravely overcoming a difficult route.
Most of them visit us regularly, some of them come every year, and all of them are quite experienced ice divers. Therefore, our guests from St. Petersburg dived intensively and systematically during their diving programme, observing one dive site after another. And though at first the weather was not very good - windy and cloudy, but for the remaining days northern nature was smiling at us, giving us bright sun, vigor of frost and complete calmness.
On the final day of their diving programme the weather at Biofilters Bay was really quiet, rather warm and comfortable. The famous White Sea hummocks looked just gorgeous under the water in such weather! The final day was devoted to lake ice-fishing with a picnic by the camp fire, fish soup coocked right in the forest, and relaxation under the March sun.
