Underwater biomorphic sculptures by Denis Lotaryov
The Arctic Circle Dive Centre is the place, where Denis Lotharyov - an artist from St.Petersburg - is bringing to life his amazing project with biomorphic underwater sculptures. There are two of them at the moment - one is bigger, white, with seven arms and legs (or tails?), the other is red, with only one tail twisted into a spiral of outstanding length.
Before diving into the depths of the White sea, Denis carefully straightens his creatures on the ice, carefully, one by one, and applies lead weights to them to make his creatures sink. The team of photographers - Viktor Lyagushkin, Bogdana Vashchenko and Alexander Aristarkhov - assist the artist during the dives and film the process on the surface and below the water, making both photo and video.
