An interview about a journey to Wonderland hidden beneath the ice of the White Sea

National Geographic publishes the interview with Viktor Lyagushkin, a famous underwater photographer who stayed this April at "The Arctic Circle" Dive Center and Lodge.

Viktor compares diving at the White Sea with a journey to Wonderland. However, unlike the heroine of Lewis Carroll's novel, a diver can always return to this place again. So for almost a month Viktor spent around 3 hours a day under the ice of the White Sea, photographing its inhabitants. He managed to get high-resolution pictures of sea angels, caprellas, soft corals, sea anemones, jellyfish and other amazing sea creatures. It was also the first time Viktor used a special fisheye macro lens, which allowed him to capture tiny organisms as well as their surroundings.
